The Continental Caper Sally Alatalo

Detective Series #2

7"x4"; 64p; black and white offset with four-color cover;
perfect binding

The Continental Caper presents an extraction of all of the
sentences from Raymond Chandler's The Big Sleep that refer
to (frequently otherwise unnamed) women by characteristics of
their hair. This extraction is interrupted by a poetic commentary
and illustrated with reproduced clippings of 63 women's hair,
which elicit a diversity of texture and tone not present in
Chandler's text; instructional diagrammatic drawings for hair
styling; and silhouettes of hair grooming accessories.

OUT OF PRINT. EXHIBITION COPIES AVAILABLE.
